Those students who are successful in VCE English, are those that are already well grounded in the skills that are necessary to write and analyse well. The best way to ensure that you are prepared for the rigours of Unit 3 & 4 English is to work one-on-one with an assessor who is able to make sure that you are ‘VCE ready’.
I will provide weekly sessions where I teach you the basic components of each Area of Study of the VCE English Study Design and work with you to develop the essential skills you will need to succeed in Year 12. I will also provide you with a range of resources to help with your skill development and mark and provide comprehensive feedback and improvement strategies for each essay you write. I will also ensure an ongoing commitment to you from Year 10 through to Year 12. If you would like to begin your preparation for VCE English with an experienced English tutor then please contact me today.
I have over 25 years' experience as a VCE English teacher and a trained VCAA assessor. I am passionate about both English and teaching and take great pride in working with students so that they can reach their full potential. I have detailed knowledge of the requirements of VCE English through both training and experience. With a Bachelor of Education in Literature and experience as the head of an English department at a secondary college in Melbourne, I clearly understand the requirements of doing well at this level.
I have also been extensively involved in curriculum and skill development programs for VCE English and Literature which has allowed me to evaluate what strategies work best with students studying English. I believe that students learn best when they are in a one on one situation where they can question and respond in a safe learning environment. Taking students back and exploring each component of the assessment criteria or essay is essential for them to gain a clear understanding of what they need to do in order to develop their work so they can maximise their marks in each area of study. Ultimately, it is about giving students the confidence to take on, and excel in VCE English.
